“It is my honor to proudly endorse Carrie Buck for Placentia-Yorba Linda Unified School District Trustee, Area 5.

For the past 16 years, I have watched Carrie serve our students, families, and community in a way that is truly exceptional. When my children were in school, I saw her time and time again at school events—the art fair, sporting events, parent events, fundraisers, theater productions, and so much more. She was always there, showing up for our students and our community.

I had the privilege of getting to know Carrie personally while she served as Director of Homeless Intervention Services of Orange County and I volunteered with the organization. I watched her advocate for unhoused and at-risk youth and families, and her heart and passion were infectious. She was an incredible leader who inspired her staff and everyone around her to do more, be better, and make a difference for people who needed help most.

For the past six years, I have also had the opportunity to watch Carrie serve on our school board. I have attended board meetings and witnessed firsthand the kindness, passion, knowledge, and patience she brings to an often difficult job. She understands our schools, our district, and the challenges facing our community, and she approaches her service with genuine care for students and families.

Even while serving on the board, Carrie continues to show up for our community. She attends as many school and community events as her schedule allows and continues her commitment to helping those experiencing homelessness.

Carrie has spent years serving this community because she genuinely cares about its people. We would be incredibly fortunate to have her continue serving as our Area 5 school board trustee.
